"I have taken yoga classes from
Karen for several years now, at different
studios in town. Her teaching style is
supportive and informative, her manner both
light-hearted and dedicated, with attention to
individual issues and abilities as class size
permits. Karen offers great
anatomical/physiological insights, along with
a meditative, almost spiritual approach to the
practice. She does her homework, imparting
yogic knowledge to her students. I've seen her
whip a class of 30 or more through vinyasa
poses, I've seen her devote full attention to
only a couple of us in a tiny room. In either
setting, Karen is a great teacher."

"Karen's style is infused with many years of studying a variety of styles of yoga, and she has the ability to create a class that responds to the needs of her students. Her positive aura shines through in her cheerful and welcoming personality, and it has always been a pleasure for me to learn from and practice with Karen." Krista Richards
"Karen's classes are intimate and have a beautiful sense of flow to them. She customizes the series to her knowledge of the students that are in her care. Her understanding of the mechanics of the body was only deepened by her Jivamukti training. As her student, I appreciate that Karen's own experience of her ongoing care for her back. This experience has only made us all too aware of the great attention we need to bring to the health of our backs for our entire lives. Karen caters to all aspects of a complete yoga practice, one that incorporates breath, stillness of mind and the beauty of the physical asanas. I am honored to be her student." Amiee Purcell
"Karen radiates love and respect for all her students and creates a safe space to connect with and embrace your inner authentic self." Sara Guenther
"Karen's classes are authentic, with a sense of humor to ease any stress or tension and a voice that is smooth to the ears." Blair Vaughn
"I have studied yoga with Karen for more than five years. I can say with complete sincerity, that of all my yoga instructors (and there have been many), she was the one who made yoga an integral part of my life. She brings her wisdom, humor, care for her students, and passion for challenging her students to every class, to every asana, and to every person. I cannot recommend her more highly." David Shneer
"One aspect of your class I enjoy is chanting. You have a beautiful voice and a way of bringing everyone together, both invoking peace, and praying for it. I love how you ask us to create an intention for our practice to reach others, creating a purpose for our practice other than ourselves. It reminds me to practice compassion towards others. You often work on alignment in your L1 classes, which ensures our safety, and helps us to build strength and a solid foundation, preparing us for more advanced poses. You discuss in your L1 classes the meaning of the Sanskrit word and you use the Sanskrit words for the asanas often. The Sanskrit word just has a special ring to my ear, kind of like a prayer or chant. love your choice of music. You play a variety of music and styles. There are so many things I love about your classes. These are just a few. You really helped me to build a solid
foundation for yoga, and I feel
taller and more awake after your classes. You
are a warm, sweet spirited, loving individual,
who always makes time to talk after class or
answer questions. Thanks! Michelle

I always look forward to Karen's classes. I never know quite what to expect because every time it is different. She brings something new to each class. Her experience and knowledge continue to expand. I appreciate her directness, honesty, authenticity and love. I am always challenged physically and mentally. Perhaps the greatest thing is when I walk off my mat. It is then that I realize I have just tasted a brief moment of bliss, of peace, of self awareness, and connection to the universe (that sounds so grandiose, but it's true). Thank you Karen." "Having taken yoga classes from Karen Lerner regularly for the last two years, my practice has grown beyond measure. As a teacher, she as taught me to reach for my edge without pushing the poses too far. She has been sensitive to injuries, and has encouraged and assisted me to make the necessary modifications which have ultimately made me stronger. Her adjustments during class are always welcome and helpful. Her great wit, beautiful voice and meaningful messages continue to keep me coming back with joy and enthusiasm time after time." Rose

"Karen has been a great instructor and friend to me. I have Cerebral Palsy and she is very aware of my needs and knows how to adjust certain exercises to accommodate my abilities. I have known her a little over three years and she has seen major improvements with my stance and stamina. Even though now, some of the exercises are difficult and hard for me to enjoy, I have learned from her to trust that it will make a difference if I really commit to everything that we are doing." Susan
"Karen is the kind of yoga teacher who inspires and challenges her students to step forward and show up to their practice. She guides a beautiful class with a recipe of compassion, kinesthetic knowledge, and a deep sense of the sacred roots of yogic tradition. Karen emits a true understanding of the holistic practice of yoga, and is detailed and grounded in her sequencing, while at the same time remarkably intuitive." Buffy
"The beauty of yoga for me is self-discovery by way of guidance that speaks to my heart. I would say Karen has that connection, not only with me, but with many of her students - one that is heartfelt through her committment and passion of yoga." Jeff
